Alison Doody
Alison Doody has been an Irish actor and model from 11 November 1996. Doody made her acting debut in a Bond film, A View to a Kill in the year 1985. In 1989 she played Nazi-sympathizing archaeologist Elsa Schneider in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Siobhan Donnevan's role in A Prayer for the Dying (1997), Charlotte Taffin (1988), and Rebecca Flannery Major League II (1994) are other roles. Doody was first introduced to modeling when she was invited by an experienced photographer. The result was an impressive career as a commercial model. Doody was determined to steer clear of glamour and nude roles, this was the principle she incorporated into her acting. Having come to the attention of the director who cast an upcoming James Bond film she accepted a small part as Jenny Flex in 1985's A View to a Kill. Doody appeared on John Willis Screen World Volume 2 as one of 12 promising actors to be cast in 1986. 38. At just 18 at the time she acted in the character Doody was and is one of the smallest Bond girl to date. A Prayer for the Dying which starred Mickey Rourke in 1987, was another early film where Doody portrayed IRA Siobhan. Doody had an unspoken role as Archibald Craven's spouse Lilias during his film of a dream, the 1987 adaptation to The Secret Garden. Doody performed the role of Sapsorrow in the Jim Henson's fantasy show The Storyteller, opposite John Hurt Dawn French Jennifer Saunders. She starred alongside Pierce Brosnan in the film Taffin (1988) before taking possibly her most famous role ever in the role of Austrian Archaeologist and Nazi-sympathiser The Dr. Elsa Schneider in 1989's Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade as a co-star with Harrison Ford. Doody was in the film with Sean Connery, who played the character's father. Doody played alongside Jonathan Pryce as Hitler Diaries the British mini-series based on Hitler Diaries. Then she moved to Hollywood. She took over Cybill Shepherd in the L'Oreal spokesperson role. Doody then appeared as Flannery Sheen's girlfriend and his agent alongside Charlie Sheen, as Major League II was released in 1994. Doody was absent from the stage for nearly 10 years, came back 2003 for a minor part in The Actors, a British comedy The Actors in which Michael Caine played her in a scene at an awards ceremony. The year 2004, she appeared with Patrick Swayze alongside a TV version to King Solomon's Mines. Also, she appeared in Benjamin's Struggle (2005), a pamphlet describing the Holocaust. Doody was on Danny Dyer 2010's The Rapture. The Clinic, a medical drama that aired on RTE. The Asphyx was the 2011 version of her film. Pam Jefferson was her character in the E4 comedy Beaver Falls for two seasons. In 2014, she appeared on We Still Kill the Old Way (2014). The 21st of November, 2018, she received the Almeria Tierra de Cine award as well as a star in Almeria Walk of Fame.
