Tyler-Justin Anthony Sharpe (born on the 26th of August, 2002) is known as Lil Tecca, is an American musician and rapper. The release of "Ransom," his 2019 single, helped him become a household name. The song was part of the mixtape he released in his debut "We Love You Tecca" (2019) that peaked at the top spot on the US Billboard 200. It also contained the singles Love Me and Did It Again. The album he released as his debut"Virgo World" (2020), debuted on the Billboard 200 at number 10. It included the Billboard Hot 100 chart-charting songs "Dolly" and "When You Down". The mixtape that he followed up with We Love You Tecca 2 was released in August 2021. It included the songs "Repeat It", "Lot of Me" and others. Tyler-Justin Anthony Sharpe, an Jamaican Immigrant, was born in Queens on August 26, 2002. He was born in Queens in Springfield Gardens. However, Sharpe moved later to Cedarhurst in Long Island. At a young age, Sharpe had aspirations of playing in the NBA However, around 12 years old Sharpe shifted his focus towards pursuing a career in music. He completed his studies at Lawrence High School. Tecca, nine years old at the at the time, was rapping with his peers with his Xbox to record. The two would berate one another. One of them was uploaded to SoundCloud years back, but it was removed. He initially had no plans to pursue a music career although he did dream of becoming a NBA star. He began to take music more seriously when the time he stopped playing basketball during middle school. The first track that gained some recognition, "Tectri", was created in collaboration with his friend, Lil Gummybear, and was released in the beginning of 2017. His other tracks comprise "Callin" and "Tectri". Tecca's career took off a year later, with the smash single "Ransom" and was uploaded to Cole Bennett’s Lyrical Lemonade YouTube channel on May 22, 2019. The song reached the top spot at 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and has received more than 900 million plays on Spotify and over 300 million views on YouTube.
