Emma Stone
Emily Jean Stone, also known as Emma,
was born in Scottsdale, Arizona on November 6, 1988. She is the daughter of
Krista Jean Stone (nee Yeager), who is a homemaker and Jeffrey Charles Stone
(CEO of a firm that contracts and was its founder and CEO). She has Swedish and
British Isles origins. Stone began acting in her youth as a Valley Youth
Theatre member in Phoenix, Arizona. She made her stage debut in the play of
Kenneth Grahame "The Wind in the Willows." As she grew older, Stone
was in a variety of other shows until she made acting her profession. The
official narrative is that she developed a PowerPoint presentation, backed by
Madonna's "Hollywood" and later titled "Project Hollywood",
in attempt to persuade her parents to let her leave school and relocate to Los
Angeles. After the presentation was accepted, she and her mother moved to LA.
She continued to study at home and was able to audition. Her TV debut was when
she was cast as Laurie Partridge on the VH1 reality/talent show In Search of
the Partridge Family (2004). This led to a variety of minor TV roles over the
years. After several successful performances, she was able to play the role of
Jules in Superbad (2007). Her stardom was as Olive was a highlight of her role
in Easy A (2010) followed by a series of roles. In Phoenix, Arizona, she was a
student at Xavier College Preparatory. Although she's a redhead the natural
hair color of her hair is blonde. Judd Apatow suggested that she change her
hair color to suit Superbad (2007). The actress was so impressed, she chose to
keep the color. She convinced her parents to let her move to Hollywood when she
reached the age of 15 by presenting an PowerPoint presentation that was
appropriately titled Project Hollywood. She started acting at 11 years old and
was a part of Phoenix's Valley Youth Theatre. Here she performed on more than
16 stages as well as performed in the comedy improv group of the theatre.
Caylee Cowan also acted at the Valley Youth Theatre.
